If you join the team at Newcap Corporate Office in Dartmouth you join a dedicated group of professionals who provide timely, accurate reporting for the Company and provide guidance and support to Administrative personnel at the radio stations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position will be responsible for internal financial reporting ensuring adherence to IFRS. An important part of this job is to assist others in the department when required and to work toward constantly improving processes within the department and throughout the various financial areas of the company.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Review of market level financial statements
Preparation of consolidated financial statements
Approval of journal entries
Preparation and review of financial statement support files, including reconciliations
Assistance with preparation of budgets and forecasts
Perform accounting standards research and analysis
Review and approval of various government remittances
Assistance with quarterly tax provision preparation
As the successful candidate:
- You are a CPA with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- You have experience with International Financial Reporting Standards
- You are able to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- You are comfortable working at detail level as well as a level of review
- You work well under pressure and can react effectively and efficiently to meet tight timelines
