Newcap Radio Red Deer is looking to fill the position of Promotions Director! Could it be you?

Red Deer is smack dab in between Calgary and Edmonton but it has its own identity. It is a vibrant, growing city with a ski hill for the winter and the beautiful Red Deer River valley’s trail systems to keep you busy all summer. We are also hosting the CFR this year and the Canada Winter Games in 2019.

This opportunity is for someone who knows how to have fun and can represent our heritage stations in a professional, respectable manner. Reporting to the Program Directors, the successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks at the radio station, and around the community, including:

Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm ideas for station(s) tactics and sales campaigns
  • Build proposals that capture the concepts agreed upon in the brainstorms
  • Schedule, track, and workflow all station(s) contest components
  • Work alongside digital, creative, production, and on air departments to ensure contest details are running correctly & smoothly
  • Manage inventory of prizing
  • Manage music giveaway opportunities and concert presents packages with local concert promoters and local music reps
  • Assist with the development of Listener Club E-blasts
  • Manage stations social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram)
  • Assist in the idea process for onsite events/street team
  • Organize listener events such as trips, VIP movie nights etc. when required
  • Music scheduling when required
  • On air duties for vacation relief when required
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Directors

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous radio experience
  • Music Master
  • Previous administrative experience required
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong writing, power-point, photo-shop, and oral presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of Web design and graphic design would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
